The Sacramento Kings will be young at shooting guard in 2013-14

The Kings will be young, but very talented at shooting guard in 2013-14.  The Kings picked 20-year old shooting guard Ben McLemore in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft and he will likely open the season as the starting shooting guard for the Kings.  McLemore is going to be a favorite for the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2013-14.  26-year old Marcus Thornton will be the Kings’ #2 shooting guard in 2013-14.  Thornton played in 72 games (8 starts) for the Kings last year and he averaged 24.0 minutes, 12.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  He has now played in 269 games (99 starts) in his first four years in the NBA and he is averaging 26.6 minutes, 14.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  24-year old Jimmer Fredette will be #3 in line at shooting guard for the Kings in 2013-14.  He played in 69 games (0 starts) for the Kings last year and he averaged 14.0 minutes, 7.2 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.3 assists per game.  He has now played in 130 games (7 starts) in his first two years in the NBA and he is averaging 16.2 minutes, 7.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
