25-year old point guard Seth Curry is going to decline his player option for the 2016-17 season, making him a free agent. The Sacramento Kings are going to have to ante up if they want to keep Curry. Curry played in 44 games (9 starts) for the Kings last year and he averaged 15.7 minutes, 6.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He had 1 Double-Double for the Kings last year. In April, Curry played in 7 games (5 starts) in which he averaged 32.5 minutes, 16.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He shot 45.9% from the floor, 48.9% from three point range and 87.5% from the free throw line in April….which are impressive numbers. Curry has now played in 48 games (9 starts) in his first three years in the NBA and he is averaging 14.9 minutes, 6.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. It will be interesting to see how much a team is willing to pay Curry, as he looked really good late in the year for the Kings.
UPDATE: (5/19/2016) – Seth Curry will be a restricted free agent this summer, so the Kings can match an offer he gets if they want to.
